About the role

  • Project Manager overseeing Workplace projects at The Crown Estate, ensuring successful delivery with a focus on sustainability and stakeholder collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • To manage deliver and ensure the successful delivery of Workplace projects within scope, quality, time and cost constraints
  • Coordinating all aspects to ensure a smooth transition with minimal disruption to business operations
  • This role will involve close collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure clear, timely, and consistent communication throughout the project lifecycle
  • Develop and manage detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocations
  • Works closely with other areas of the business, leading projects
  • Ensure all project milestones are met, maintaining compliance and operational readiness
  • Oversee the design, procurement, and implementation of new office fit-outs
  • Coordinate all logistics related to physical moves
  • Manage contractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery and installation
  • Conduct site visits and manage snagging, handover, and post-project support
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external partners to ensure seamless project execution
  • Act as the primary liaison between internal teams, contractors, and consultants to maintain alignment and momentum
  • Work closely with the Workplace Engagement Manager to support the successful embedding of agile and hybrid working practices
  • Ensure that operational and logistical aspects of the project align with broader change initiatives and communication plans
  • Promote sustainable practices throughout the project lifecycle
  • Support or lead initiatives related to material passporting, circular economy, and reuse-first strategies
  • Ensure environmental considerations are factored into procurement, fit-out, and disposal decisions
  • Work closely with the Workplace Engagement Manager to help them deliver clear and consistent communications to the business.
  • Support the development of internal updates, briefings, FAQs, and engagement materials.

Requirements

  • Ability to lead and motivate others; demonstrating empathy and diversity
  • Is able to apply project management methodologies (e.g. AGILE, PMI, Prince II)
  • Demonstrated sensitivity to working in a sensitive environment interacting with senior leadership
  • Knowledge of project-planning tools
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Expertise in setting and managing customer expectations
  • Experience in the Software Development / Web Development / Digital Design
  • Ability to coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects
  • Effective influencing and negotiation skills in an environment where matrix reporting is new and/or shows ways of bringing people with them as the organisation adapts to new ways of working
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of business needs with the ability to establish and maintain a high level of trust and confidence
  • Proven experience in project management, ideally in office relocations, fit-outs, or operational transitions.
  • Strong understanding of building operations, logistics, and workplace environments.
