About the role

  • Finance Assistant supporting a busy global finance team in transaction processing and ensuring data accuracy. Collaborating with multiple companies and managing high volume transactions at Barnstaple.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for the Sales Ledger team for queries, delegating tasks appropriately in line with the guidance of the Sales & Purchase Ledger Manager.
  • Perform credit control duties, including issuing monthly statements, contacting clients regarding overdue payments, and maintaining accurate correspondence records.
  • Manage the sales ledger email inboxes, responding to and resolving internal and external queries promptly and professionally via email or phone.
  • Process, issue, and send sales invoices to clients.
  • Ensure accuracy of data entry into finance and in-house job costing systems.
  • Support the administration of the in-house job costing system and assist users across The MISSION Group.
  • Maintain the various sales ledgers, ensuring accounts are well-organized and up to date.
  • Process card receipts over the phone when necessary.
  • Assist with monthly reconciliations and report findings to the Manager.
  • Foster effective working relationships within the Finance team and across The MISSION Group.
  • Support any reasonable ad hoc requests from the Sales & Purchase Ledger Manager.

Requirements

  • Experience working in a Finance Department, ideally with a focus on sales ledger
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills
  • Proficient numeracy and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Well-organized and capable of working to monthly deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
  • A good eye for detail & an analytical mindset
  • Committed to completing tasks accurately and on time.
