About the role
- Junior Consultant for System Integration in Rail Technology focused on complex system integration. Working with experts on critical rail infrastructure projects and customer collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Participation in system integration projects in the rail sector, particularly in the areas of signalling and safety/control systems, telecommunications, train protection/ETCS and related IT/ICT systems
- Analysis and integration of existing rail systems as well as new systems within complex system landscapes
- Technical coordination and alignment of subsystems and interfaces (e.g., between interlockings, ETCS components, operations control systems, telecommunications and IT systems)
- Support in requirements engineering with a focus on system and interface requirements
- Participation in system, integration and acceptance tests, including preparation, execution and documentation
- Support for migrations, upgrades and system transitions during live rail operations
- Close cooperation with clients (e.g., infrastructure operators), system manufacturers, suppliers, authorities and internal project teams
- Preparation of technical documentation (analyses, integration concepts, interface descriptions, test materials, risk assessments)
- Technical support for project and subproject management in client projects
Requirements
- Completed technical education (University of Applied Sciences / Technical College / University) with a focus on electrical engineering, communications engineering, railway engineering, information technology, computer science or a comparable discipline
- Ideally, initial experience in rail projects, particularly in signalling/control and safety technology or telecommunications / information technology
- Structured, analytical working style and strong system understanding
- Excellent communication skills in dealing with customers, partners and project teams
- Independent and responsible working approach
- Business-fluent German and good English skills, both written and spoken
- Willingness to travel as required by project work
