About the role

  • Associate Vice President, Litigation providing strategic leadership for a national litigation team. Ensuring expert representation for TD Insurance and its customers in all stages of litigation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership for a national litigation team
  • Ensure TD Insurance and its customers are expertly represented before all levels of court
  • Lead a high-performing national Claims Litigation Services team
  • Deliver best-in-class litigation outcomes for TD Insurance and its customers
  • Build strategic partnerships with Accident Benefits, Bodily Injury, residential, fraud, and subrogation teams
  • Collaborate with TD Legal to optimize outcomes and resource allocation

Requirements

  • Licensed lawyer in good standing with a provincial law society
  • Ability to be licensed in Ontario or Alberta (or both)
  • 10–15 years of progressive experience in insurance defense litigation
  • Expertise in trial advocacy with a proven track record
  • Exceptional leadership skills
  • Proven experience managing and developing a diverse team
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Advanced written and verbal communication, negotiation, and partnership skills
  • Demonstrated success in leading large-scale change initiatives
