About the role

  • Programme Manager enhancing client delivery capabilities for a financial services firm, leading strategic client engagements and delivering impactful change across projects.

Responsibilities

  • Be trusted by clients as a delivery partner who gets things done – and gets them done well
  • Nurture relationships with clients, understanding their strategy and priorities
  • Translate client needs into clear, well‑structured delivery roadmaps
  • Ensure projects are scoped, planned and delivered to agreed milestones and outcomes
  • Apply strong commercial and financial awareness to all programme decisions
  • Manage budgets, forecasting and financial controls with discipline
  • Support pricing, bids and commercial conversations with clients
  • Lead, develop and support Project Managers, ensuring they’re equipped, motivated and set up for success
  • Inspire and energise the wider change and technology community, fostering collaboration, agility and a shared commitment to delivery excellence
  • Deliver programmes in line with Target’s frameworks, ensuring control, compliance and quality
  • Report progress clearly, escalate risks early and embed lessons learned
  • Champion continuous improvement, lean delivery and high performance

Requirements

  • Organised, structured and confident managing time and competing priorities
  • Commercially astute and comfortable managing budgets

  • Always looking for ways to improve how things are done
  • Proven experience delivering change in a client-facing role
  • Strong financial services experience
  • A PM qualification (APM, Prince2, or equivalent)
  • Experience leading PMs and managing portfolios
  • Experience with Waterfall, Agile and Hybrid approaches
  • Experience delivering in outsourced or BPO environments (Bonus)
  • Offshore team collaboration (Bonus)
  • Exposure to ISO/CMMI (Bonus)
  • Agile qualifications and/or MSP certification (Bonus)
