About the role
- Fixed Asset Accountant supporting fixed asset and general accounting operations at Switch. Ensuring accurate financial reporting, audit readiness, and compliance with GAAP and internal controls.
Responsibilities
- Prepare journal entries with supporting documentation.
- Reconcile and analyze general ledger accounts related to fixed assets.
- Process depreciation and record adjusting entries in the fixed asset subledger.
- Record asset additions, disposals, transfers, and lease transactions.
- Prepare monthly account reconciliations and resolve variances.
- Assist with monthly close activities and financial statement preparation.
- Support quarterly reviews and annual audit requests.
- Maintain fixed asset schedules, including tracking of depreciation and disposals.
- Research accounting questions and document conclusions.
- Partner with other departments to ensure accurate capitalization and asset tracking.
- Perform ad hoc analysis as requested.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or a related field.
- 2+ years of accounting experience.
- Experience preparing reconciliations and journal entries.
- Working knowledge of fixed asset accounting and depreciation.
- Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Experience working in a SOX-compliant environment.
- Preferred: Experience with JD Edwards, Oracle Fusion, or Blackline.
- Preferred: Understanding of lease accounting.
