About the role

  • Financial Analyst for Sun Life Health managing account reconciliations and supporting financial controls. Collaborates with internal partners and assists in audits while ensuring compliance with standards.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare account reconciliations ensuring they are accurate and meet Sun Life account reconciliation standards
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve differences in reconciliations in collaboration with business partners
  • Support internal and external audits
  • Validate, improve, and document key business processes and controls.

Requirements

  • Relevant prior experience with reconciliations, audit, financial reporting and/or internal controls
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools (including Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint)
  • Understanding of IFRS and SOX controls relevant to the insurance industry
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented and flexible to changing priorities and timelines
  • Proven technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Previous experience with Frontier (or other reconciliation tools) and SAP is an asset
  • CPA or other relevant designation is considered an asset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills.
