Senior Accountant supporting the income tax processes including tax compliance and audits for STV, an infrastructure-focused professional services firm in North America.
Responsibilities
Support the company's income tax process, including the preparation of financial information for external service providers
Prepare and/or review federal and multistate income and franchise tax returns
Coordinate timely tax payments to various income tax authorities
Maintain, review, and reconcile tax accounts, and proactively resolve discrepancies
Prepare various indirect tax returns, such as sales and use, personal property, business licenses and other tax filings
Conduct technical research to address tax issues
Support company tax audits, respond to tax notices, and facilitate timely resolution of other tax matters under the guidance of the Sr.Tax Manager
Serve as a resource for tax department management, assisting with day-to-day issues and inquiries arising from all company areas
Completes other special projects as assigned
Requirements
A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
Minimum of 6 years' work experience as a corporate accountant or 3 years' work experience in public accounting
Active CPA license in your work state required
Strong organizational & communication skills
Detail-oriented with the ability to meet highly detailed reporting requirements
Effective prioritization and multitasking skills, especially under tight deadlines
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively
Strong computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office suite of products
