Responsibilities
Conduct advanced manufacturing engineering work to develop new methods, create cost estimates, and solve engineering challenges.
Coordinate/guide engineering/technical aspects of advanced manufacturing assignments.
Responsible for strategic planning and budgeting for short, mid and long-term capital projects.
Prepare and carry out approved recommendations including tool redesign and alterations, change of material specifications, dimensions, methods, and routing information.
Develop proposals for automation, mechanization, methods, and special tooling for cost reduction.
Prepare cost estimates involved in changing from present to new methods; estimate savings expected as a result of such change.
Plan equipment layout and workflow, and train supervisors and managers in correct production procedures.
Investigate new machines and equipment with regard to production features required, prices, and conditions involved.
Prepare reports and recommendations for management relative to purchase or lease of equipment.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineer or related field
All work affecting product quality shall be competent on the basis of appropriate education, training, skills, and experience.
Maintains currency with respect to technical and supervisory skills by attending training classes, special technical and administration courses, seminars, exhibits and trade shows as needed.
German fluency preferred
