About the role

  • Assistant Vice President in the Privacy Office managing personal data incidents within the Americas. Supporting the Global Privacy Office processes and contributing to compliance strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Handling and advising on personal data incidents within the Americas.
  • Processing Data Subject Rights Requests received under privacy laws.
  • Assisting with the development and maintenance of centralized Global Privacy Office processes and procedures covering all regulatory requirements governing Privacy and Data Protection of personal data, with a focus on requirements on Americas.
  • Identify emerging trends in the regulatory environment and contribute to the open and collaborative communication of the same to ensure regulatory information is shared across key functions in a timely manner.
  • Aid in the identification of, and resolution planning for, various risk and compliance issues, breaches and potentially suspicious activities; open compliance issues when appropriate.
  • Track and monitor compliance issue resolution plans and work in conjunction with Compliance, business and/or functional unit partners to help ensure accuracy of accountabilities and adherence to relevant policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Participate in the establishment and implementation of compliance training and education programs to keep business and/or functional unit personnel appraised of compliance policies and regulatory obligations.
  • Cultivate effective relationships with internal business partners to maintain engagement.
  • Provide support to Global Privacy Office colleagues on matters relating to other jurisdictions as required.

Requirements

  • Privacy and/or IT and/or Audit/Compliance professional with strong operational focus with several years of related experience
  • Understanding of compliance control procedures, preferably IT controls in addition to operational controls
  • Ideally familiarity with the three lines of defense model, regulated environments and Information Technology Control Frameworks
  • Strong IT proficiency, in particular with Word, Excel, Outlook and SharePoint
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills with strong attention to detail
  • Must have a customer service work ethic with the ability to interact comfortably with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to collaborate and influence colleagues
  • Proactive approach to problem solving and ability to adapt to shifting priorities, meet deadlines and execute in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to juggle conflicting demands and prioritize effectively
  • Relevant privacy, IT, audit and/or financial services certifications from a recognized professional body beneficial.
