About the role

  • Employee Communications Team Lead developing internal communication strategies for Stantec. Leading a team to enhance employee engagement and drive business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Reporting directly to the Director of Employee Communications
  • Supports a team of communications professionals who manage relationships with FST partners
  • Work with executive and business leadership to develop and implement internal communications strategies
  • Focus on reaching employees with communication experiences to drive long-term business strategy
  • Establish and nurture relationships with partners
  • Work with the Employee Communications team to develop best practices, standards, and processes for effective internal communications
  • Define success and associated measures for evaluations of communications plans
  • Lead individual projects and workstreams within large strategic communications initiatives

Requirements

  • Deep understanding of employee communications best practices
  • Strong collaboration, influencing, and interpersonal abilities
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate clearly and persuasively
  • Skilled in framing key issues and messages by analyzing complex, sometimes incomplete information
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong prioritization and project management capabilities
  • Data-driven approach to informing communication strategies and tactics
  • Effective collaborator with creative professionals across locations (writers, designers, videographers)
  • Partner-focused mindset with the ability to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines
  • Post-secondary degree in communications, public relations, or marketing
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in content marketing, communications, public relations, or journalism
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a leadership position
