Responsibilities
- Manages the efficient and effective operations of pharmacy services
- Supervises and manages associated personnel staff
- Interprets and enforces established policies and procedures
- Creates new policies and procedures
- Designs and implements performance improvement initiatives that enhance safety, environmental, and infection control
- Provides oversight to pharmacy personnel with respect to the Pharmacy Department goals and objectives
- Collaborates with leadership team to improve services and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Designs, implements, and monitors pharmacy practices to optimize medication management outcomes
- Supervises and manages technical support staff and clinical pharmacists
- Participates in Informatics meeting discussions and practice implementation
- Partners across the organization to develop and implement solutions for improved member/client satisfaction
- Reviews department performance and effects changes as required
- Collaborates with physicians and other health care professionals on patient drug therapy
- Oversees training programs for pharmacy staff, residents, and students
Requirements
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited college or university
- Five (5) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience in Pharmacy required
- PGY1 and 3 years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience in Pharmacy required
- PGY1 and PGY2 (General) with 1 year of progressively responsible and directly related work experience in Pharmacy required
- PGY1 and PGY2 HSPAL Residency completion required
- Knowledge of California State Board of Pharmacy Laws and Regulations
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Skill in the use of establishing policies and procedures
- Ability to interpret new laws, guidelines as applied to the practice of Pharmacy
- Ability to interpret regulations and guidelines as applicable to the practice of Pharmacy
- Licensed as a Pharmacist by the California Board of Pharmacy within 120 Days
