About the role
- Head of Engineering managing technical vision and mentoring engineering team at Soxton. Scaling AI-powered legal platform and establishing best practices for development and deployment.
Responsibilities
- Own the technical vision and architecture for Soxton's AI-powered legal platform
- Build, lead, and mentor the engineering team as we scale
- Drive technical decisions around our AI/ML infrastructure, document processing systems, and product capabilities
- Establish engineering best practices, processes, and quality standards
- Help build on the product roadmap and strategic priorities
- Manage technical debt, system reliability, and security
- Hire and develop exceptional engineering talent
- Ensure we ship high-quality features weekly
Requirements
- 0-1 experience. You've built products or teams from the ground up, ideally as a founder, CTO, or founding engineer
- Proven track record leading an engineering org through a scaling phase (e.g., 3 → 30+ engineers, Series Seed → B growth, or similar inflection points)
- 6+ years of software engineering experience, with 2+ years in engineering leadership
- Experience building AI/ML-powered products
- Ability to be hands-on while also thinking strategically
- Strong technical judgment and experience with modern cloud infrastructure
- Excellent communication skills and ability to operate in ambiguity.
