About the role
- Safety Engineer responsible for overseeing work safety and compliance for SONDA contracts. Collaborating with teams and managing safety programs and documentation.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical lead for Occupational Safety across the company’s contracts
- Represent the company before clients, contractors, audits, inspections and regulatory bodies
- Manage and guide the team of Safety Technicians, monitoring performance, routines and demands
- Plan, implement and monitor safety, health and occupational risk prevention programs
- Ensure compliance with current Safety, Health and Environment legislation, regulatory standards and contractual requirements
- Prepare, review and track technical and legal occupational safety documents
- Perform risk analyses, field inspections, internal audits and monitor operational activities
- Conduct incident and accident investigations, defining corrective and preventive actions
- Deliver training, guidance and safety campaigns for operational and administrative teams
- Monitor safety indicators, prepare management reports and present results to management and clients
- Support operational areas in defining safe procedures for field activities
- Work collaboratively with administrative, operational and contract teams
Requirements
- Experience managing and leading teams of Safety Technicians
- Experience serving as the technical responsible party on contracts, with direct interface with clients and inspection authorities
- Practical knowledge and application of Regulatory Standards, with emphasis on field activities
- Experience preparing, reviewing and managing legal and technical OHS documents
- Experience with audits, inspections, accident investigations and managing safety indicators
- Ability to operate in an integrated manner across operational and administrative activities
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- Specialization in Occupational Safety Engineering, with professional registration
