About the role

  • Senior Labor Compliance Specialist providing advanced compliance oversight for complex construction projects. Supervising a team of Compliance Specialists while ensuring regulatory adherence and audit readiness.

Responsibilities

  • Provide overall labor compliance leadership for an assigned geographic region.
  • Independently manage complex labor compliance obligations for internal self-perform work and multi-tier subcontractors.
  • Review, analyze, and audit Certified Payroll Reports (CPRs) and supporting documentation.
  • Interpret and apply complex labor compliance requirements.
  • Conduct proactive compliance audits and risk assessments.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for client, third-party, and government audits.
  • Directly supervise, mentor, and develop a team of assigned Labor Compliance Specialists.
  • Collaborate with project teams, legal, payroll, and external stakeholders for compliant monitoring and reporting strategies.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in labor compliance on state- and/or federally funded construction projects.
  • Demonstrated experience serving in a lead, senior, or supervisory capacity.
  • Advanced, working knowledge of California labor laws and regulations.
  • Proven expertise in prevailing wage enforcement, certified payroll auditing, risk assessment, and labor compliance investigations.
  • Experience managing compliance activities across multiple projects, contractors, and geographic regions.
  • Strong people leadership skills, including the ability to coach, develop, motivate, and hold team members accountable.
  • High proficiency with labor compliance and payroll monitoring systems (e.g., LCPtracker).
