About the role

  • Procurement Specialist coordinating sourcing of products and issuing purchase orders. Training new staff and continuously improving procurement processes and supplier relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Receive requirements from program representatives and source approved manufacturers, suppliers, and distributors for requested products and services.
  • Issue RFQs and respond with pricing and availability.
  • Validate requirements, issue POs within authorized signature authority and established process.
  • Oversee RFQ and Purchase Order requirements from issue through delivery.
  • Identify alternate Sources of Supply or Sources of Repair to improve performance.
  • Document actions into database systems; furnish data and reports as required.
  • Provide training of new procurement staff.
  • Proactively identify process improvement opportunities.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Business, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management from an accredited university/college required.
  • 2-3 years’ experience in private or public sector contract administration, purchasing, vendor management, procurement, accounting, finance, or closely related field.
  • Current drivers’ license, proof of U.S. citizenship or authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Within 12 months of hire, must possess ISM Accredited Purchasing Practitioner (A.P.P.), Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.), Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), CSCMP SCPro Level One, Two, or Three, or equivalent certification.
  • Working knowledge of FAR/DFAR and procurement regulations preferred.
  • Must have intermediate or higher proficiency using Microsoft Office programs.
