About the role
- Service Manager responsible for logistics services for Sizewell C construction, ensuring safety and efficiency. Leading a team and managing contracts up to £200m across project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Lead logistics support services for a construction workforce of ~7,900.
- Maintain an effective logistics corridor by road, rail, and sea, ensuring compliance with planning requirements.
- Develop and implement a bespoke Delivery Management System (DMS) and manage stakeholder relationships.
- Oversee traffic throughput from the Freight Management Facility to the site plaza.
- Manage contracts with values up to £200m across the project lifecycle.
- Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and site controls.
- Coordinate marine operations, including offsite port facilities and the on-site Beach Landing Facility.
- Develop freight forecasts and delivery slot allocations aligned with the construction programme.
- Provide technical input and resolve issues related to logistics operations.
- Deliver line management for Delivery Leads, including career development and performance reporting.
- Prepare monthly reports on safety, KPIs, SLAs, financials, and forecasting.
- Nuclear safety responsibilities as detailed in the Nuclear Baseline.
Requirements
- Proven experience in project logistics and abnormal indivisible loads across all transport modes.
- Leadership experience in logistics on large infrastructure projects.
- Track record of delivering within large-scale project environments.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Ability to manage budgets up to £250m and develop long-term strategies.
- Chartered Membership of the Institute of Logistics and Transport.
- Experience in high-hazard industries or nuclear construction sites.
- IOSH Construction Safety Qualification.
- NEC3 Contract training and project management certification (PRINCE2/APM).
- Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related discipline.
- SMSTS or IOSH qualification holder.
- Understanding of Principal Contractor role in civil engineering/infrastructure projects.
