About the role
- Equipment Engineering Manager leading design and engineering for Hinkley Point C project at EDF. Collaborating across teams and ensuring safety and quality standards in nuclear energy.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Equipment Integrated Team (ITBE) and oversee the delivery of all design activities for the Hinkley Point C project
- Responsible for managing detailed design, post-design engineering, and supplier engagement for Nuclear Island Equipment contracts across Units 1 & 2
- Ensure technical integration, design configuration management, and support through manufacturing, delivery, construction, and commissioning phases
- Play a key role in maintaining safety, quality, and design maturity while driving performance to meet time and cost targets
Requirements
- Proven ability to lead the delivery of safety, quality, schedule, cost, and design maturity targets across equipment contracts
- Experience managing post-delivery engineering activities and resolving technical issues with a best-for-project mindset
- Strong stakeholder management skills, acting as the primary point of contact for day-to-day operations across internal and external teams
- Collaborative approach to working with international teams across France and Germany to coordinate engineering scope
- Confidence managing risks and opportunities, and reporting progress across a multi-disciplinary integrated team
- Experience managing budgets of £5–10 million annually, with awareness of project change control processes
- Leadership experience in building and developing high-performing teams, with a focus on skills growth and resource planning
- Participation in senior leadership teams, contributing to strategic direction and cross-functional coordination
