About the role
- Director of FP&A leading financial forecasting and analysis across music labels and distribution. Collaborating with executives to drive strategic financial decisions and optimize processes.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain financial models to inform quarterly forecasts, annual budgets, and variance analyses across all business units.
- Analyze a wide variety of potential deals including label/artist deals, distribution, publishing, and mergers and acquisitions.
- Continuously optimize FP&A processes and standards, identifying opportunities for improvement and automation.
- Develop and report on the key performance indicators most relevant to each business unit leader.
- Analyze business activity and industry trends to support strategic decisions
- Identify and implement tools to improve FP&A and other business operations
- Perform ad-hoc financial analysis as requested by senior management
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in finance, business, or other quantitative fields.
- 5-10 years of experience with financial analysis, financial reporting, and deal analysis
- Advanced Excel skills with a deep understanding of model architecture and efficiency
- Experience preparing and/or interpreting financial statements including income statements, balance sheets, and statements of cash flows.
- Talent for cultivating relationships across business units and functions
- High degree of aptitude with large data sets and tech savvy orientation
- Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and simply
- Proven process management skills
- Experience implementing new systems or organization-wide changes
- Advanced financial certifications preferred (CPA, CMA, CFA, etc.)
- Music industry experience preferred
