About the role
- Senior Accountant building and developing internal accounting functions in a hybrid setup. Collaborating with international stakeholders to ensure compliance and streamline processes.
Responsibilities
- You will play a central role in further developing our internal accounting function.
- Execute and continuously improve the day-to-day accounting operations in collaboration with external service providers.
- Responsible for monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements prepared under local GAAP / IFRS.
- Ensure accurate bookkeeping (general ledger, sub-ledgers, trial balance, account reconciliations) in compliance with all tax, commercial and regulatory requirements.
- Manage accounts receivable, accounts payable and payment processes, including dunning/collections.
- Support the selection and implementation of a new ERP system.
Requirements
- Several years of professional experience in accounting, ideally in a fast-growing startup or scale-up.
- Strong hands-on experience with month-end closings, general ledger, account reconciliations and closing processes.
- Solid knowledge of local GAAP, and ideally IFRS.
- Extensive experience with international accounting setups and consolidation of legally independent entities, particularly in GmbH / US Inc. structures.
- Experience building accounting structures, implementing ERP systems and driving automation.
- Business-fluent German and English.
