About the role
- Junior Data Analyst role supporting enterprise data initiatives at Rockingham Insurance Company. Collaborating with team members to build data solutions and drive data-driven decisions.
Responsibilities
- Support enterprise data initiatives through learning, collaboration, and hands-on contribution.
- Assist in building and maintaining data solutions that support data-driven decision making.
- Acquire, validate, and analyze data from primary and secondary sources.
- Create, maintain, and analyze recurring and ad-hoc reports, queries, dashboards, and databases as directed.
- Identify trends, patterns, data quality issues, and process improvement opportunities.
- Document analysis process, data definitions, and methodology to ensure consistency of work.
- Partner with business units to understand data needs.
- Participate in data governance process by assisting with documentation and adherence to approved standards and best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business, or computer information system, or equivalent experience required.
- Experience, coursework, or foundational experience involving data analysis, data presentation, or visualization using structured data sets.
- Internship or entry-level experience in analytics, reporting, business intelligence, or related field a plus.
- Demonstrated interest in analytics, data, or technology, shown through academic projects, personal initiatives, internships, or relevant work experience desired.
- Familiarity with Power BI or other data visualization or reporting tools preferred.
- Familiarity with relational databases and SQL concepts, with the ability to learn and apply querying techniques to support reporting and analysis.
