About the role

  • Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating a variety of commercial agreements in a fast-paced tech environment, with a particular focus on software, SaaS, marketing and data protection.
  • Support for intellectual property enforcement and brand protection efforts, helping to safeguard the company’s assets and reputation.
  • Assistance in handling low-level disputes and pre-litigation matters.
  • Maintaining and improving legal tools and workflows, including contract management systems.
  • Efficient triaging and addressing of legal queries, simplifying complex issues, taking swift action, and establishing clear expectations.
  • Close collaboration with teams across the business to provide timely and effective legal advice.
  • Staying current with relevant laws, maintaining legal templates, playbooks, and training materials.

Requirements

  • Qualified solicitor in England & Wales (or equivalent jurisdiction).
  • NQ - 1 year’s PQE, ideally with some in-house experience, or from a leading law firm with exposure to commercial legal work.
  • We also welcome applicants who hold a law degree, have completed the SQE, and are close to qualification, with at least two years’ legal experience gained at a leading law firm or in-house team, including exposure to commercial legal work (please note we are not offering a training contract).
  • A strong interest in working in-house at a fast-paced, technology-led company.
  • Enthusiastic, hungry to learn, and not afraid to get stuck in.
  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Clear communicator with the ability to explain legal concepts simply and effectively.
  • Agile, commercial mindset, organized, adaptable, and comfortable juggling multiple matters at once.
  • Team player who is proactive and solution-focused.
  • Interest in legal tech, including AI, and willingness to use tools to drive efficiencies is a plus.
