About the role

  • Global Commodity Manager at RENK responsible for procurement strategies of complex components. Leading supplier development and cross-functional collaboration across global teams.

Responsibilities

  • Global responsibility and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the procurement of technically complex components
  • Ongoing analysis of global procurement markets to identify opportunities and risks for the sourcing strategy
  • Identification, qualification and development of suppliers, and building a strong preferred supplier portfolio
  • Development and implementation of a global commodity strategy in close collaboration with cross-functional teams to achieve cost reductions and ensure supply security
  • Identification of process optimization potentials and implementation of measures to realize savings over different time horizons
  • Conducting global tenders, preparing benchmark analyses, and calculating and negotiating contracts at the international level
  • Defining objectives and budget for the commodity group and ensuring target achievement
  • Close collaboration with supplier quality to continuously improve delivery performance and quality
  • Development and implementation of robust risk management for the commodity group

Requirements

  • Completed technical or business degree, e.g., Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering
  • Several years of procurement experience with commodity groups such as forged parts in a mechanical engineering/manufacturing environment
  • Strong technical understanding as well as strong analytical and conceptual skills
  • Experience in the functional leadership of international teams and in implementing change processes
  • Solution-oriented approach to conflict resolution and consistent pursuit of goals
  • Effective teamwork even under high workload and in stressful situations
  • Openness to intercultural collaboration and global work
  • Willingness to travel internationally on a regular basis
  • Business-fluent English; additional languages are an advantage.
