About the role

  • HR Payroll & Accounting Specialist ensuring precise payroll and managing personnel administration for scientific research organization. Supporting financial processes and facilitating employee satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for full personnel administration: employment contracts, onboarding, personnel data and offboarding
  • Support in applying for public funding and preparing reports
  • Manage time tracking, absence management and maintenance of digital personnel files
  • Perform monthly payroll processing
  • Primary point of contact for employees' payroll queries
  • Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Support the monthly closing process and review employee expense reports

Requirements

  • Completed commercial vocational training or a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Human Resources or a related field
  • Several years of professional experience in accounting and/or payroll
  • Solid knowledge of German payroll and social security regulations
  • Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and month-end closing processes
  • Familiarity with German tax and employment law regulations
  • Proficient with HRIS systems (preferably Personio) and accounting software such as DATEV or SAP, as well as expense management tools
  • Excel skills and proficient use of the Microsoft Office suite
  • Full professional proficiency in German (C2) and good English skills (B2)
  • Professional certification in accounting or payroll is a strong plus
