Responsibilities
To effectively manage and oversee operations across four Alliance Healthcare link points and drivers to ensure the Service Centre Transport Fleet function delivers agreed financial and customer service objectives.
Ensure all transport operations are conducted legally, safely, and in full compliance with Health & Safety obligations to drivers and members of the public.
Take responsibility for all areas of people management for direct reports, including coaching, nurturing talent, and motivating the team.
Manage driver rotas to ensure trained cover for absences, maintaining operational continuity.
Provide coaching and guidance to team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
Ensure transport operational costs remain within budget by implementing and monitoring robust control mechanisms.
Maintain all vehicles to company and legislative standards, ensuring safety and reliability.
Requirements
Familiarity with relevant UK transport legislation, such as DVSA regulations and health and safety requirements.
Knowledge of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and contractual requirements within a logistics or transport environment.
Awareness of company-specific compliance standards and KPIs.
Experience in driving operational efficiencies and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
Ability to communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders.
Experience working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve shared goals.
Proficient in Microsoft tools including 365, Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Teams.
