About the role

  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with key suppliers and shipyards
  • Conduct performance evaluations and support supplier development initiatives
  • Assist with onboarding and administration of procurement agreements and amendments
  • Support initiatives to reduce risk and improve lead times across the supply base
  • Coordinate with Global Marine Operations and Logistics to align procurement execution with operational planning
  • Collaborate with Ship Managers to structure technical specifications into standardized sourcing packages
  • Facilitate the RFP process by ensuring specifications are clear, comparable, and aligned with shipyard requirements
  • Execute sourcing initiatives and procurement processes for assigned dry dock projects
  • Support identification of sourcing opportunities to enhance efficiency and reduce costs
  • Track cost savings and manage spend reporting for assigned projects
  • Assist in the development of standardized RFP templates and harmonized specifications
  • Conduct cost comparisons and price analysis to support contract negotiations led by the Director
  • Manage Statements of Work (SOW), supplier agreements, time sheets, and final yard bill reconciliation
  • Monitor and escalate procurement-related issues, including purchase order discrepancies or urgent sourcing needs
  • Support resolution of warranty claims and delivery issues
  • Assess supply chain risks and support mitigation strategies
  • Monitor shipyard and supplier performance against defined targets
  • Provide updates on sourcing initiatives and contribute to reporting on business and supplier performance
  • Support continuous improvement of procurement processes, tools, and systems
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on procurement execution priorities
  • Support organizational cost-reduction goals while maintaining quality and delivery standards
  • Execute purchase requests and contribute to cross-functional initiatives as directed

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management or related field
  • 8-10 years of experience: 5+ years of technical shipyards or technical ship management experience involving Dry Dock and 5+ in a procurement leadership role with demonstrated experience managing complex sourcing projects and supplier relationships
  • Experience in a cruise line or maritime shipping environment related to technical and purchasing is preferred
  • Experience managing procurement processes in high-pressure, time-sensitive environment
  • Proficient in the use of analytical tools to evaluate cost profiles and cost reduction opportunities
  • Strong understanding of strategic sourcing methods, technologies, and processes
  • Ability to manage financial aspects of the procurement function and identify cost efficiencies
  • Knowledge of customer service principles and processes, including needs assessment and quality service standards
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to present information clearly to management and stakeholders
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (advanced), Word, Power Point and Projects systems
  • Ability to interact with executive-level leadership and business owners of category suppliers
