About the role
- Accounting Specialist managing day-to-day financial operations for PwC's diverse clients in Poland. Involves process verification, compliance support, and team collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day operational accounting tasks within a dynamic financial project environment
- Process and verify accounting transactions in at least one of the functional areas: Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, or General Ledger
- Ensure accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing activities for assigned scope
- Prepare and review reconciliations of balance sheet and P&L accounts, investigate and resolve discrepancies
- Support implementation and stabilization of new processes, tools and systems within project streams
- Participate in transitions/migrations of accounting activities (knowledge transfer, documentation, testing) and maintain and update process documentation, work instructions and controls related to assigned area
- Support in ensuring compliance with company policies, accounting standards (e.g., IFRS/US GAAP/local GAAP) and internal control requirements
- Assist in training and onboarding of new team members within the assigned accounting scope
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
- 2–3 years of hands-on experience in at least 2 accounting processes (AP, AR, or GL) within a corporate or SSC environment
- Professional working proficiency in English
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, complex formulas, data analysis)
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or MS Dynamics
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively in a professional setting.
- Nice to have: Previous experience in Shared Service Center (SSC), ACCA or other accounting certification in progress.
