About the role

  • Financial Accountant managing main accounting activities for BASF with responsibilities across departments and compliance with IFRS and HGB accounting standards.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for general ledger activities
  • Act as the interface between various departments and the group headquarters
  • Work closely with group subsidiaries
  • Ensure smooth operation of all accounting processes
  • Process transactions in the general ledger as well as in fixed assets and leasing accounting
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS and HGB
  • Support income tax calculations
  • Serve as the central point of contact for accounting matters
  • Actively contribute to projects and coordinate technical and process improvements

Requirements

  • Completed degree in business administration, vocational training with a focus on accounting, or an equivalent qualification
  • Good knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel
  • Ideally practical experience with SAP R/3 and SAP S/4
  • Very good German and good English skills
  • Strong motivation to achieve success as part of a team
  • Independent working style and analytical thinking
  • Enthusiasm for automation and digitalization of processes
