About the role

  • Mechanical Design Engineer developing propulsion components at Pangea Propulsion. Focusing on performance and manufacturability for advanced space propulsion systems.

Responsibilities

  • Design and optimize propulsion system components with a focus on performance, reliability, and manufacturability
  • Lead the development of mechanical designs, including detailed 3D models, technical drawings, and GD&T application
  • Prepare comprehensive technical documentation such as specifications, assembly procedures, and design justifications
  • Support propulsion system integration and layout planning within the overall vehicle architecture
  • Collaborate with propulsion engineers and analysts to iterate and improve designs based on test and simulation feedback
  • Coordinate with suppliers and machine shops to ensure feasibility and quality in manufacturing

Requirements

  • BSc in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
  • 5+ years in mechanical design, preferably in the space sector
  • Strong skills in CAD design (preferably Siemens NX)
  • Familiarity with PLM tools (preferably Teamcenter)
  • Proficiency in ISO GPS, tolerance analysis, and creation of accurate technical drawings and specifications
  • Strong understanding of DfM principles, including tolerance analysis, material selection, and process limitations
  • Experience preparing technical documentation, including specifications and design files
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in Spanish and French is a plus
