Senior Cloud FinOps Specialist enhancing cost transparency within Pacific Life's Technology Enterprise organization. Conducting analyses, managing tools, and driving cost optimization strategies with a collaborative team.
Responsibilities
Serve as the Cloud FinOps expert to conduct detailed analyses of Cloud technology costs, licensing, infrastructure utilization, and other related costs within the org.
Directs the management of tools and processes that execute savings identified as part of a larger cost optimization strategy.
Lead PL Technology efforts to improve spend alignment to the Technology strategy, including providing greater Cloud financial transparency to business leadership.
Serve as the subject matter expert in defining IT financial analytic use cases including the development of analytics, data visualizations and cost measurement frameworks via a Cloud based tool.
Operationalize the implementation of a cloud-based cost optimization tool in partnership with Finance, Cloud Services and outsourced providers.
Drive deep insight into IT spend and cost optimization opportunities to support strategic decision-making and financial management of IT services.
Design / implement a strategy to manage cost optimization opportunities for each service (e.g., external vendors, cloud providers, etc) including lifecycle cost.
Define the mission and vision for the Cloud FinOps functionality, lead cost optimization discussions, advocate for financial best practices and identify cost savings opportunities in partnership with PL Technology, Finance, Procurement, Vendor Management and divisional leadership.
Requirements
8+ years of experience
Working knowledge of the implementation and management of cloud cost optimization efforts.
Abilities to work across all levels, functions, divisions, within the organization.
Experience working with outside service providers (including cloud service providers)
The tenacity to find and implement cost savings opportunities.
