About the role

  • Business Analyst supporting Electric Transmission Planning at PG&E, involved in data analysis and reporting. Working on budgets, forecasts, and business decision-making strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Business Analysts supporting Electric Transmission Planning are responsible for research, data analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting to support business decision-making, strategy, and operations.
  • This hybrid position works from your remote office and your assigned location based on business needs.
  • Perform analysis and QA on LiDAR data through Python coding or other coding programs on highly complex data models that have cross-functional impact.
  • Apply advanced technical knowledge to broad-ranging issues.
  • Develop innovative data solutions to address complex business issues. Present findings and proposed recommendations to leaders.
  • Develop business cases in support of strategy or change initiatives.
  • Develop new or revise existing data analysis to predict business outcomes by selecting from various complex variables.
  • Manage cross-functional projects or initiatives.
  • Provide direction and coaching to other Business Analysts.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor of Science in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related discipline or equivalent work experience required
  • Six years of related work experience
  • MBA or graduate degree (Desired)
  • Knowledge of PG&E’s Legacy Backoffice, PG&E’s Transmission System and LiDAR as it is used in Transmission Vegetation management (Desired)
  • Proficiency in Python Code Writing, analytical tools, Power BI creation/utilization, or similar software, Microsoft Office, Excel, SQL Server (Desired)
  • Strong presentation and communication skills to deliver findings and recommendations to various levels of management (Desired)
  • Extensive knowledge of different analytical methods, approaches, and tactics (Desired)
  • Broad expertise in what-if modeling analysis, concepts, methods and techniques, and analysis of how different factors affect business outcomes (Desired)
  • Creative problem-solving skills to develop solutions (Desired)
  • Strong analytical and writing skills to create compelling business cases based on complex business environments and inputs (Desired)
  • Influence skills to effectively gain buy-in from leaders inside and outside the department (Desired)
  • Knowledge and understanding of key drivers affecting business results (Desired)
  • Project management skills to lead large and complex projects working with cross-functional teams (Desired)
