About the role

  • Internal Communications Coordinator managing daily communications and events at Perkins NGO. Collaborating to enhance employee engagement through storytelling and logistics.

Responsibilities

  • Draft and edit high-quality content for the Perkins Pulse intranet (WordPress), our monthly People Operations newsletter, and daily announcements.
  • Keep our intranet and communication boards fresh, organized, and easy to navigate.
  • Create eye-catching visuals using Canva or Adobe Suite and capture photography that brings our stories to life.
  • Ensure every piece of content is inclusive, meeting Perkins’ high standards for alt-text and accessible formatting.
  • Provide hands-on logistical support for major staff events like Winterfest, Summer Socials, and appreciation days.
  • Assist with technical setup and presentation decks for quarterly in person Town Halls and monthly Perkins Pulse virtual meetings.
  • Manage the daily workflows for employee awards and milestones via Awardco, ensuring our team’s hard work never goes unnoticed.
  • Conduct interviews with staff to create "day-in-the-life" features for internal and external branding.
  • Help manage our employer brand on platforms like Glassdoor, Indeed, and LinkedIn.
  • Track and compile monthly analytics (open rates, engagement) to help us refine our strategy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years in communications, marketing, or HR. (experience in a non-profit or corporate setting is a big plus!)
  • Proven experience with WordPress (or similar CMS), Google Workspace, and design tools like Canva or similar.
  • Exceptional proofreading skills and a careful focus on accuracy and formatting.
  • A commitment to learning and applying digital accessibility best practices to foster an inclusive workplace.
