About the role
- Strategischer Einkäufer ensuring long-term supply of materials for wheelchair production at Ottobock. Involves supplier selection, cost analysis, and close collaboration with internal departments.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement strategies for the long-term material requirements of wheelchair production
- Analyze and evaluate material costs, identify cost-saving opportunities and generate savings
- Responsible for procurement in development projects
- Conduct market research for selected commodity groups
- Execute tenders and independently negotiate commercial contract terms
- Supplier development including supplier selection, evaluation and analysis
- Inventory analyses and procurement planning in close coordination with operational departments
- Serve as the escalation level for operational purchasing
Requirements
- Degree in Economics, Engineering, or a completed commercial apprenticeship (e.g., industrial clerk)
- More than 3 years of solid professional experience in strategic procurement and in negotiating with suppliers
- Very good MS Office skills, ideally SAP MM experience, and fluent German and English
- High self-initiative, a pronounced hands-on mentality as well as analytical and strategic thinking
- Strong technical understanding or a high level of technical interest
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for occasional supplier visits
