About the role

  • Water Resources Project Manager at Otak managing multidisciplinary teams focused on stormwater and restoration projects. Overseeing project delivery, design decisions, and client development.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multidisciplinary teams and project delivery, with a focus on stormwater infrastructure, fish passage, river and stream restoration, and flood mitigation projects in Puget Sound
  • Prepare various reports supporting design decisions and permitting
  • Direct and oversee the preparation of floodplain and watershed studies, hydrologic and hydraulic design reports, and construction documents
  • Guide staff in preparing design calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical reports
  • Develop and manage project scopes, schedules and budgets
  • Participate in team strategy meetings on business development and technical delivery
  • Support client development and proposal activities
  • Support Otak's Transportation, Planning, and Architecture business units

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Water Resources, or Environmental Engineering required (Masters degree preferred)
  • Minimum of 8 years of previous Project Management/Project Engineering experience in stream/river restoration design, or related field
  • Must possess a valid Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Experience with preparation of construction documents for project designs and permits supported by hydrologic, hydraulic, and geomorphic calculations
  • Demonstrated success managing projects from design through construction
  • Experience with SWMM, HSPF, HEC-RAS, SRH-2D or similar hydrologic and hydraulic models
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, ArcGIS, and/or AutoCAD
  • Must be able to prioritize and manage multiple project tasks with simultaneous deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are needed
