About the role
- Business Solution Engineer Internship at Opensee, developing and analyzing data solutions for financial institutions using Python and Big Data technologies. Collaborate with a diverse team to drive innovation in the fintech sector.
Responsibilities
- You will join the Solutions team and report to a Business Solution Lead.
- Support pre-sales activities: define and frame new user stories/demos, prepare product presentations and supporting materials, create or refine historical datasets required for demos, implement calculations or models, run proofs-of-concept, and perform gap analyses.
- Manage the product roadmap for new use cases or features and oversee their implementation in terms of data model, financial metrics, and user interfaces.
- Master all technical aspects of the Opensee platform: overall system architecture, deployment, data models and ingestion, and Python-based calculators.
- Acquire knowledge of Banking Book risk drivers and understand business pain points and regulatory expectations, with priority on Liquidity, ALM/T and credit risk challenges.
- Assess, design and implement new use cases: define data requirements and specifications, create data models, generate and ingest data, implement metrics, tune performance, configure user interfaces, and develop advanced calculators (Python) or models.
- Provide feedback to the product team on requirements and prioritization of potential new features arising from prospective clients or demo needs.
- Support presentations of new use cases internally and to prospective clients and own the related presentation materials and documentation.
- Develop the following technical skills: IT — Big Data technologies, SQL, Python, and software lifecycle; Finance — Liquidity and Credit Risk Management calculations (Banking Book), Balance Sheet Management; Project Management — demo preparation, project monitoring, and coordination with development teams to manage roadmap and dependencies.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, or Finance from a top engineering school or university
- Excellent analytical, numerical and conceptual abilities
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in both French and English
- Interpersonal skills: outgoing personality, confident presenter, and enjoys storytelling
- Proficiency in Python and SQL
- Strong interest in technology and finance
- Preferred: experience at a financial institution, fintech, or data management software vendor
