About the role

  • Assist in Product Roadmap Management: Support the Product Manager and Product Delivery Manager in defining and operationalizing the product roadmap.
  • Facilitate Planning and Workshops: Contribute to release planning and lead requirements workshops with subject matter experts (SMEs) and other key ceremonies as needed.
  • Craft User Stories: Write clear and concise user stories, including detailed acceptance criteria, based on epics provided by Product Management.
  • Epic Definition Collaboration: Collaborate with the Product Manager to help define epics, leveraging your own subject matter expertise.
  • Backlog Management: Own and manage the backlog for cross-functional teams, balancing functional and technical requirements, ensuring tasks are prioritized, well-refined and ready for the team, and identifying and incorporating risks and dependencies into both sprint and release planning.
  • Partner with Engineering Teams: Act as the product owner for agile product delivery, partnering with engineering teams to ensure value is delivered to the market.
  • Enable Engineering and Design Teams: Empower engineering and design teams to develop optimal solutions, designs, and technical approaches by effectively communicating the product vision, strategy, and customer/user problems.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Assist Product Managers in communicating roadmaps, priorities, decisions, and risks to internal stakeholders, maintaining transparency across the organization.
  • Conduct Testing and Training: Perform user acceptance testing and provide product functional training for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Documentation Production: Own the production of functional and technical documentation required to implement, operate and support the product, including configuration guides, workshop workbooks, and release notes, in collaboration with the engineering and tech solutions teams.
  • Progress Updates: Keep key stakeholders informed on delivery progress by demoing and reporting on advancements or delays.
  • Release Handover: Manage the release handover to customer-facing teams to ensure a successful transition.
  • Mentoring & Driving Best Practices: Mentor more junior members of the team setting high standards of work and professionalism. Contribute to product & engineering continual improvement by continuously sharing and promoting best practices.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a product owner in a SaaS company using Agile effectively
  • Excellent prioritization skills with the ability to apply a consistent approach to prioritizing highest value items and communicate the decision-making process used if challenged
  • Strong stakeholder management experience with the ability to influence both horizontally and vertically within the organization
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to conduct demonstrations and present to senior stakeholders and customers
  • Collaborative with a strong sense of teamwork, understanding that when we succeed, we succeed together
  • Customer and user centric with demonstrable experience of partnering with design and engineering to devise the best solutions to identified problems
  • Technically savvy, capable of understanding the solution approach taken by the development team, and communicating technical issues and risks effectively
  • Experience of working in a regulated environment, with knowledge of data privacy regulations is highly desirable
  • Experience in healthcare technology is a bonus
