About the role
- External Affairs Manager leading multi-state legislative advocacy initiatives at OCHIN. Support community-based health care providers through regulatory and policy efforts across the West Coast.
Responsibilities
- support and lead OCHIN’s multi-state-level legislative and regulatory advocacy efforts
- develop and execute advocacy strategies
- build relationships with policymakers
- represent OCHIN across multiple states
- track, analyze, and influence state legislation and regulations
- draft testimony, comment letters, and policy/data briefs
- represent OCHIN in hearings, workgroups, and advocacy forums
Requirements
- Candidates must be located on the West Coast and live with 1-hour maximum travel time to a major airport
- Qualified candidate must have government health care experience with multiple states
- Minimum of 5 years of multi-state government relations experience required
- Experience executing multi-state government health care legislative initiatives required
- Demonstrated success influencing state policy outcomes
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Experience /working knowledge in health information technology highly preferred
- Experience with community health centers and/or rural hospitals highly preferred
- Strong writing and advocacy skills
- Skilled at producing high-quality advocacy materials to support state advocacy and member engagement.
