Direct Support Professionals and Residential Support Specialists providing care to individuals with intellectual disabilities and mental health diagnoses. Positions available in various locations across Massachusetts.
Responsibilities
Offer guidance for residents during skills building
Develop and implement individual treatment plans for residents
Assist with daily living activities, including meal preparation, money management, doctor’s appointments and assisting with personal hygiene
Engage people and partner with them to improve their health and wellness, achieve symptom stabilization and self-management and develop and/or restore skills impacted by mental illness to help them live a self-directed life.
Ensure appropriate staff-to-client ratio at all time
Develop and promote a supportive relationship with the residents
Provide side-by-side support and coaching to help people socialize and become more involved in their community.
Requirements
Education: High School diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree in any related field preferred.
Experience: Zero to six years related experience (depending on DSP level) providing child care/elder care/direct support to developmentally disabled persons OR Experience supporting individuals in a mental health/special education or other human services setting OR Experience working with a population that has severe and persistent mental illness and/or substance use disorder.
Skills: Must have valid Driver’s license. Must be or able to become MAP certified. Must be or able to become CPR/First Aid certified within five months of hire (training provided).
