About the role

  • Principal Project Manager at Northrop Grumman leading engineering initiatives. Responsible for strategic alignment and operational effectiveness within a cross-functional team.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Engineering Directorate in multiple activities and requires a broad engineering knowledge base in engineering.
  • Support early career activities including intern, mentoring programs; knowledge sharing initiatives; and engineering operations with creating briefings, maintaining SharePoint page, and running meetings as required.
  • Coordinate with engineering discipline leads and program business partners to ensure effective planning, staffing, and efficient functional engineering operations.
  • Collaborate with Division/BU/OU/Program POCs to ensure a strong partnership between engineering and programs.
  • Collaborate with multiple functional organizations (human resources, talent acquisition, business management, mission assurance, global supply chain, manufacturing, and security) to define strategies that enhance operational effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Identify engineering focus areas for improvement/streamlining, development and execution of engineering initiatives, and elimination of non-value-added activities in all levels of the engineering organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of professional experience or Master’s degree with 3 years of professional experience or PhD with 1 year of professional experience
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Top-Secret security clearance
  • Must be a self-starter, have excellent written and oral communication skills, be highly collaborative, team oriented, have strong people leadership skills, and be able to effectively multi-task competing priorities and schedules across the organization
  • Needs strong attention to detail and the ability to function independently, meet deadlines and achieve commitments
  • Experience delivering projects on time
  • Excels at operating in a fast pace, diverse environment and can adapt to change
  • Experience in planning and executing large meetings or events
  • Experience with executive briefings and communications
  • Experience working with cross functional disciplines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
