About the role

  • Local Operations Manager overseeing windfarms across Co Kerry and surrounding areas for Nordex Group. Responsible for service teams, QHSE compliance, financial performance, and operational effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility for QHSE compliance in the service area
  • Display role model behaviours and drive safety
  • Overall responsibility for financial and commercial performance of the service area including budget planning and performance
  • Effectively drive and report on KPI’s
  • Manage operational performance ensuring WTG availability
  • Managing stock levels and inventory
  • Providing leadership to site teams and delegating to team leads
  • Recruitment and development of service employees
  • Create business plans for service points
  • Oversee site safety auditing and reporting
  • Manage site facilities and large operations

Requirements

  • Experience in a leadership role within the wind industry or a similar sector
  • Completed apprenticeship or have relevant experience in Mechanical or Electrical engineering role
  • Working knowledge in commercial or financial controls
  • Comfortable with managing financial performance, KPI’s, and budgets
  • Qualification or relevant experience in business management desirable
  • Experience of managing remote field-based teams essential
  • Strong Computer literacy with ability to use MS Office and workload management systems (SAP)
  • Experience in dealing with complex businesses, preferably matrix organisations
  • Strong customer focused approach
  • Excellent decision making, planning and prioritisation skills
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills
  • Flexibility and adaptability
  • Systematic working approach
  • Strong team working, collaboration and delegating approach
  • Full UK Driving Licence required with regular travel and nights away from home
