Sales Representative for Nippon Express actively promoting logistics solutions and developing long-term customer partnerships. Focused on new business acquisition and client management in a hybrid work environment.
Responsibilities
Drive sales activities with a strong focus on both hunting (new business acquisition) and farming (development of existing customers).
Build, manage, and expand a customer portfolio.
Actively prospect and identify new business opportunities.
Arrange and confirm customer appointments and organize Business Review Meetings (BRMs).
Maintain strong relationships with existing customers, including Key Account Management (KAM).
Provide professional advice and tailored logistics solutions to customers and prospects.
Prepare and follow up on quotations in close collaboration with the Inside Sales team.
Keep customers informed about market developments, trends, and rate evolutions.
Handle customer complaints from a commercial perspective and ensure timely resolution.
Lead tenders and RFQs with the support of the Inside Sales team and Procurement.
Monitor and follow up on personal KPIs and report sales results to the Country Sales Manager (CSM).
Collaborate closely with internal departments within Nippon Express Belgium NV and with overseas branches.
Report directly to the Country Sales Manager.
Requirements
Proven sales professional with a minimum of 3–5 years of experience, ideally within logistics, freight forwarding, or a related industry.
Strong hunter mentality combined with the ability to farm and grow existing accounts.
Bachelor-level thinking and working capacity.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
Results-driven mindset with a demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales targets.
Hands-on, proactive, and solution-oriented approach.
Able to work independently, manage priorities, and organize your own schedule effectively.
Strong collaboration skills with the ability to coordinate efficiently with internal teams.
High proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Pivot Tables, PowerPoint).
Experience with Salesforce and CargoWise is a strong asset.
Good understanding of internal company procedures and commercial workflows.
Market-aware, with knowledge of competitors and pricing structures.
In possession of a valid B driving license.
Fluent in Dutch and English; fluent in French is a strong plus.
