Responsibilities
Own the end-to-end payroll process for U.S. and international employees
Manage Federal, State, and local payroll tax requirements, as well as international compliance through local partners
Oversee end-to-end processing for U.S. and international employees, including base pay, commissions, bonuses, and equity transactions
Act as the functional lead for payroll systems (e.g., BambooHR, Rippling, Sequoia One)
Enhance internal controls and documentation to ensure compliance with SOX requirements
Collaborate with HR, Finance and Legal
Drive payroll-related audits, including insurance and 401k audits
Serve as point of contact for payroll inquiries, resolving issues with accuracy and empathy.
Requirements
8-10+ years of progressive payroll experience
At least 3-5 years in a leadership role within a high-growth high-tech, public technology company
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
Expert-level knowledge of BambooHR, Rippling, Sequoia One preferred
CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) preferred
Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) and experience with equity-based payroll
Experience managing global payroll providers in EMEA/APAC
Proactive, self-motivated, organized, and comfortable with ambiguity and change in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication skills, attention to details and hands-on.
