About the role

  • Global Payroll Manager at Nexthop AI managing payroll for U.S. and international employees. Leading payroll operations, ensuring compliance, and automating processes in a high-growth tech environment.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end payroll process for U.S. and international employees
  • Manage Federal, State, and local payroll tax requirements, as well as international compliance through local partners
  • Oversee end-to-end processing for U.S. and international employees, including base pay, commissions, bonuses, and equity transactions
  • Act as the functional lead for payroll systems (e.g., BambooHR, Rippling, Sequoia One)
  • Enhance internal controls and documentation to ensure compliance with SOX requirements
  • Collaborate with HR, Finance and Legal
  • Drive payroll-related audits, including insurance and 401k audits
  • Serve as point of contact for payroll inquiries, resolving issues with accuracy and empathy.

Requirements

  • 8-10+ years of progressive payroll experience
  • At least 3-5 years in a leadership role within a high-growth high-tech, public technology company
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • Expert-level knowledge of BambooHR, Rippling, Sequoia One preferred
  • CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) preferred
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) and experience with equity-based payroll
  • Experience managing global payroll providers in EMEA/APAC
  • Proactive, self-motivated, organized, and comfortable with ambiguity and change in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills, attention to details and hands-on.
