About the role

  • Onsite Storage Consultant providing Level 2/3 support for NetApp’s 24x7 Professional Services team. Handling customer environments with strong technical expertise and excellent service skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Level 2/3 support for storage operations including incident, change, and service request management.
  • Plan and perform firmware and OS upgrades across customer environments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues in NetApp storage systems.
  • Manage backup and replication technologies such as SnapMirror and IntelliSnap.
  • Administer and optimise storage environments using tools like OnCommand Unified Manager, Performance Manager, and Cloud Insight.
  • Collaborate with senior customer teams and internal sales teams to ensure smooth service delivery.
  • Document incidents, changes, and problem resolutions following ITIL standards.
  • Design, build, deploy, and test infrastructure solutions and disaster recovery setups.
  • Maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across infrastructure and operational processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years relevant experience, OR Master’s degree with 8–10 years experience, OR PhD with relevant experience, OR Equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience.
  • Hands-on expertise with NetApp Storage (CDOT & 7-Mode), including deployment, troubleshooting, and upgrades.
  • Proficiency in Brocade SAN switches and SAN technologies.
  • Strong understanding of NetApp features: snapshots, failover, provisioning, deduplication, cloning, SnapMirror, IntelliSnap.
  • Scripting knowledge in PowerShell, Python, or Ansible.
  • Solid understanding of infrastructure platforms such as FlexPod, Cisco UCS, IBM BladeCenter, System X, VMware vSphere, and Microsoft OS.
  • Strong knowledge of protocols: CIFS, NFS, iSCSI, Fibre Channel.
  • Familiarity with ITIL methodologies (ITIL Foundation preferred).
  • Understanding of managed services, outsourcing, and cloud industry practices.
  • Knowledge of monitoring platforms, WANs, SANs, backup, and DR technologies.
