About the role
- Engineer 2 supporting Metro Ethernet test and turn up for Comcast Business. Troubleshooting complex network issues for Federal Government and Enterprise commercial customers.
Responsibilities
- Supports day to day operational tasks across Comcast Business's Metro Ethernet and MPLS networks
- Work with off-net providers to troubleshoot connectivity issues with circuits or vendor supplied CPE
- Confirming service functionality at customer demarcation
- Conduct pre-checks for optics, demarc specs and CPE settings
- Designing complex internal circuits and overseeing CDV demark to switch processes
- Conducting comprehensive testing and commissioning of new circuits
- Liaising with commercial clients to discuss product offerings and service implementation
- Managing implementation and augmentation of trunk groups
- Implementing new features, technologies, upgrades, and patches
- Escalating technical issues promptly
- Recording and updating accurate information in databases
- Mentoring junior team members
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
- 2-5 Years relevant work experience
- Strong network engineering and analytical skills
- Experience with Metro Ethernet and/or MPLS networks
- Proficiency with multiple network and system tools
- Familiarity with service activation workflows, networking principles, and testing methods
- Ability to work nights, weekends, variable schedules, and overtime as necessary.
