Responsibilities
The Security Operations Center (SOC) Manager provides operational leadership and accountability for the day-to-day function of the organization's security operations capability.
This role leads the SOC team, exercises independent judgment during security monitoring and incident response activities, and acts as management's representative during security events and escalations.
The SOC Manager ensures the SOC operates as a reliable, disciplined, and mature function aligned with organizational risk tolerance, and is accountable for operational outcomes rather than solely technical execution.
Requirements
Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in cybersecurity operations, security monitoring, incident response, or a closely related operational environment where cybersecurity risk was a primary concern.
At least two (2) years of experience exercising operational leadership in cybersecurity contexts, such as directing or coordinating response activities during security incidents, serving as a lead responder or escalation point, or guiding other staff during cybersecurity events.
Experience with applying cybersecurity-specific judgment to assess threats, determine appropriate response actions, and distinguish material security incidents from background operational or technical noise.
Experience operating within defined incident response or security operations procedures, including adherence to standards, escalation protocols, and post-incident review or improvement activities.
A bachelor's degree or higher in Information Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field may substitute on a year for year basis for the required experience.
