About the role

  • SOC Manager responsible for overseeing security operations and incident response at the Florida Department of Revenue. Leading the SOC team to ensure effective security management and organizational risk alignment.

Responsibilities

  • The Security Operations Center (SOC) Manager provides operational leadership and accountability for the day-to-day function of the organization's security operations capability.
  • This role leads the SOC team, exercises independent judgment during security monitoring and incident response activities, and acts as management's representative during security events and escalations.
  • The SOC Manager ensures the SOC operates as a reliable, disciplined, and mature function aligned with organizational risk tolerance, and is accountable for operational outcomes rather than solely technical execution.

Requirements

  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in cybersecurity operations, security monitoring, incident response, or a closely related operational environment where cybersecurity risk was a primary concern.
  • At least two (2) years of experience exercising operational leadership in cybersecurity contexts, such as directing or coordinating response activities during security incidents, serving as a lead responder or escalation point, or guiding other staff during cybersecurity events.
  • Experience with applying cybersecurity-specific judgment to assess threats, determine appropriate response actions, and distinguish material security incidents from background operational or technical noise.
  • Experience operating within defined incident response or security operations procedures, including adherence to standards, escalation protocols, and post-incident review or improvement activities.
  • A bachelor's degree or higher in Information Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field may substitute on a year for year basis for the required experience.
