About the role
- Security Engineering Advisor partnering with CISO to shape security direction at Montel in Oslo. Managing security execution and supporting cross-functional teams within a growing SaaS environment.
Responsibilities
- Partner closely with our CISO to shape security direction
- Support day-to-day security execution across Montel’s technology organisation
- Turn security direction into clear requirements, priorities, and action plans
- Track delivery across security initiatives and drive closure of key actions
- Promote risk-based decisions that balance security improvements with speed
- Act as a trusted sparring partner to engineers, developers, and product teams
- Support vulnerability management by coordinating scans and pentests
- Improve security logging and detection coverage in collaboration with the SOC
- Strengthen incident readiness through playbooks and lessons learned
- Support ISO 27001/ISMS work through control evidence and audit readiness
- Identify automation opportunities that reduce manual effort
Requirements
- 5+ years in information security
- Strong technical depth with advisory/consulting experience
- Proven track record of improving security in SaaS environments (B2B)
- Strong foundation in application security, cloud and infrastructure security (Azure/AWS)
- Hands-on familiarity with security tooling and practices
- Experience integrating security controls into CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps workflows
- Working knowledge of ISO 27001, OWASP, NIST, and GDPR
- Ability to improve security workflows through light scripting, automation, and AI-assisted tooling
