About the role

  • Bilingual Credit Analyst performing credit analysis and risk assessment for merchants at Moneris. Collaborating with teams to address fraud and customer service inquiries while following credit policies.

Responsibilities

  • Perform various forms of credit-based analysis on existing and prospective merchants
  • Review merchants that trigger in the Fraud queue for out-of-pattern processing
  • Decision the release of funds held and customer service to merchants on all re-adjudication-related issues
  • Apply appropriate underwriting criteria to all merchant applications following established credit policy
  • Respond to Re-Adjudication inquiries from merchants, Fraud containment staff and other Moneris departments
  • Perform a credit risk assessment of an existing high-risk merchant
  • Analyze personal, business and financial information, ensuring all risks are mitigated
  • Work with internal staff and external sources for the purpose of Credit training, fraud detection, and monitoring activities
  • Help with customer calls for complex merchant set-ups
  • Provide back up and support to the other Analysts with respect to the SMB Credit process
  • Comply with corporate policies established by Moneris Corporation

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in a related field
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Business, Accounting, or Finance
  • Must be fluent in French and English
  • Experience reviewing personal credit bureaus, commercial credit bureaus and financial statement analysis
  • Previous experience in the payment industry considered an asset
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows/ MS Office Applications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills with a demonstrated attention to detail
  • Strong business acumen
