About the role

  • Senior Investment Consultant in Mercer’s Wealth Team supporting clients in asset management through quantitative investments. Involvement in ALM analyses, portfolio construction, and investment research.

Responsibilities

  • Be part of Mercer’s Investment Consulting team
  • Support clients — including pension funds, small-to-large corporations, insurers, and family offices — in optimally investing their assets
  • Collaborate with global Investment Research and with local investment colleagues in Germany
  • Conduct Asset Liability Management (ALM) analyses for various types of investors
  • Portfolio construction using mathematical optimization techniques
  • Stochastic modeling of capital market risks
  • Further development of the existing in‑house tool landscape
  • Asset manager performance evaluation and selection
  • Research on selected topics and asset managers

Requirements

  • Relevant professional experience in the investment process of institutional investors, including ALM, mandate implementation, and risk management
  • Experience with banking supervision and its impact on asset management is a plus
  • Programming experience (e.g., Matlab, Python, R, or VBA) is advantageous
  • Good understanding of regulatory requirements such as the Investment Ordinance (Anlageverordnung), BaFin circulars, financial reporting under the German Commercial Code (HGB), as well as supervisory reporting (stress tests, forecasting)
  • Enjoyment of consulting and collaborative problem-solving in institutional asset management
  • Experience in project management
  • Consulting and sales orientation, with a confident manner
  • Very good German (C1) and English (C1) verbal and written skills
  • Open-mindedness and strong team spirit
