Automation Controls Engineer III designing, building, and integrating automation solutions for medical devices. Focused on full-cycle development of electro-mechanical systems and ongoing engineering support.
Responsibilities
Manage and implement controls, electrical, & software design from project concept to installation, including: machine concepting, risk assessment and proof-of-principle, component selection & sourcing, electrical layout, panel building and machine wiring, software design/programming, mechanical design and assembly, HMI creation and maintenance, debug of hardware/software, acceptance testing & safety, and installation/integration into production
System documentation throughout the project concept and installation
Evaluate existing systems and provide engineering level support to maintenance and production
Maintain systems knowledge of existing off-the-shelf and custom equipment
Troubleshoot difficult technical problems on a variety of equipment
Implement long-term upgrade solutions for obsolete equipment, components & software
Actively support improvement efforts and work with a continuous improvement mindset
Other duties assigned as required.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering field (Electrical, Controls, Computer Science, Mechatronic, Automation or related field); master’s degree in Engineering or related technical field helpful.
Minimum 5 years of related experience, preferably with a focus on development of custom automation control solutions.
Demonstrate a strong general understanding of electro-mechanical, and automated systems.
Demonstrate CAD modeling/design experience.
Must be able to follow a disciplined and detailed approach to project management, design process and be able to manage multiple parallel projects with varying scopes and deadlines.
