About the role

  • Lead Manager Maintenance overseeing production and maintenance activities at Reynolds American. Ensuring compliance with standards and driving high performance in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures all programs reflect thorough application / understanding of policies, procedures and corporate/regulatory standards.
  • Ensures compliance with safety, housekeeping and product quality standards and ensures regulatory and ISO (or similar certifications if required) requirements are met.
  • Manage production or maintenance activities to meet production demand, quality and cost requirements.
  • Provides leadership to direct reports, contractors, and third parties to meet manufacturing goals and supports strategic direction of function.
  • Track and analyses performance metrics and uses data to recommend improvements and identify process changes.
  • Ensure project management is embedded in program execution.
  • Participate in change management processes and help others to understand reasons for change.
  • Demonstrate and drive high performance for team and functional areas.
  • Communicate performance expectations, evaluate performance against goals and communicate results.
  • Drive collaborative efforts within own function; solicits others' ideas and perspectives to solve problems; uses external resources to identify best practices.
  • Use sound judgment in decision making by understanding how all functions of the business fit together.
  • Provides input for business case development and lead team members in applying to functional work activities.
  • Alignment of maintenance staffing to perform daily maintenance tasks, prioritize work orders, and oversee their completion to ensure minimal production disruption.
  • Development of training plans to support equipment, process changes, individual and team capability development
  • Work directly with OEM vendors to drive equipment part improvements for longer life, obsolescence changes, machine upgrade modifications
  • Ensure and develop maintenance strategies to prevent breakdowns and extend equipment life
  • Monitor, adjust, and ensure proper set-up of equipment spare parts to achieve maintenance strategies and production
  • Manages Repairs and Maintenance budget to track cost and continuous improvement
  • Cross shifts point of contact for production on escalations for safety, quality, utilities, and maintenance issues

Requirements

  • High School diploma or G.E.D. required and 7+ years progressive work experience Management, or related field and 5+ years progressive experience.
  • Demonstrated track record of high performance in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to make sound and timely decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven self-starter who generates new ideas and challenges the status quo.
  • Self-motivated, energetic, flexible and adaptable to change.
  • Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office Professional Suite and other system driven controls and data.
  • Associate’s degree in Technical, Business, Management or related field and 6+ years progressive work experience; or bachelor’s degree in Technical, Business Management, or related field and 5+ years progressive experience.
  • Experience managing production employees in a manufacturing setting.
  • Experience in an FDA regulated work environment.
  • Strong background in electrical and controls applications in a manufacturing environment
